An unprecedented year of domination has concluded in 2011 with Mygale taking the first six places in the Australian Formula Ford Championship.

The year was dominated by talented young Victorian driver, Cameron Waters, who not only claimed the title with one race meeting in hand, but also won the Shannons Supercar Showdown reality show that played out on 7Mate.

Cameron has been supported by Sonic Motor Racing Services, who, with the 2011 championship win, have now collected their sixth AFFC title.  Sonic Motor Racing Services, headed up by experienced campaigner, Michael Ritter, have won championships in Formula Ford, Porches and V8 Supercars and lead the way in Australian Motorsport.

Sonic book-ended the championship with Nick Foster placing third for the 2011 year.

Hot on Cameron’s heels is another Victorian in another Mygale chassis with another Mygale team, Jack LeBrocq.

Jack, a CAMS Raising Star, completed an incredibly successful year supported by the Minda Motorsport CRS team with a well deserved second place in the AFFC.

Jack’s outright speed has been evident to all and he is a deserving runner up in what is Australia’s toughest class of motor racing.

Since Minda made the decision to change chassis at the beginning of the 2011 year, they have seen an amazing turn of speed.  With very little time to adapt to the French machines, Minda have surged to the front of the pack, taking Jack to second place, but also placing CRS drivers, Tom Williamson, and Trent Harrison into fourth and fifth in the title.

It was also Tom Williamsons mid year move from the factory Spectrum team to the Minda Mygale outfit that saw him find true speed.

Sixth and ninth place were taken, again in Sonic Mygales,

by rookie drivers Garry Jacobson and Mathew Brabham

respectively.  Either of these two drivers would certainly

be seen as potential championship winners for 2012.
