We have had a couple of great weekends racing. Jaidyn did very well in Adelaide coming home with a win in the final and a win overall for the day. He drove very well and he knew he had a great setup for the wet. After the race i talked with Jaidyn about what was happening while he was racing. His reply was that i knew i had the setup and could do it, so i didnt panic i just drove to the conditions and kept focus and knew i would win. I thought this was great to see him so cofident and mature!!.We went to Cobden at the weekend where he drove very well. We had a different motor on which appeared to go very well. In the first race Jaidyn went from 10th up to 2nd. He was doing some amazing passing which was great to see because he often has the speed but the passing will let him down due to hesitating but in this race there was none of that – he just passed and passed. To finish in second place he drove straight past Rhys from sa who Jaidyn is normally very close in racing with but he passed him like he was standing still. I was just speechless!!
In the second race it was more difficult they were a little more bunched up. He started out of 8th and went up to fourth and ended up 5th. They were all very close together on the track and it was very difficult to pass as they were all bunched up. His times weren’t quite as good as the first run but he was still very close to the top times.
In the third race Jaidyn started out of three and by the first corner he was in first place, driving very well he lead for a while and then towards the end the two that started in front of him (one of which has two state plates) managed to get under him. We havent checked the times for this race as yet but it was properly the quickest for the weekend.
So thats racing in a nutshell!!
